Verdant Drive Park and Wetlands is a green haven, embracing natural play elements and providing plenty of opportunities for little kids to discover and learn.
Bring your kids down for a play where you can follow the journey of some of our local wildlife, including frogs, fish, birds and discover the musical reeds. Explore the riverbed for tadpoles, seek out the fish swimming in the reeds, hang out in the nest with the eggs, or watch the real wildlife from the viewing platform, including our resident Cape Barren Geese, overlooking the picturesque wetlands.
This unique park is a fantastic space for younger kids to learn, in an interactive way, and includes informative educational boards on the local animals and their lifecycle.
Once all of the animals have been discovered, climbed on and enjoyed, your kids can head to the play area for fun on the slide, swings or climbing net.
A shelter with picnic areas, plenty of seating and a huge grassed kick-about area completes this multiuse space.
Over the next month, it is planned that the flagged roped off section will remain up around some of the reserve to allow for grass to grow and establish. Please keep out of this area until the flags have been removed.
Families from all over the Meridian community will love having this unique green space in their neighbourhood.
