If you’ve walked past Meridian Green’s linear park lately, you’ll have noticed it changing week by week. Our 1.81-hectare linear park is nearly complete, and it’s easy to picture what it’ll become: the place where kids burn off energy after school, neighbours stop for a chat, and weekends start with a walk around this wonderful green open space.
The park is well on its way to completion, with our official opening anticipated to occur next month, but we couldn’t wait to give you a sneak peek!
What’s in place
The play tower is up. It stands tall in at the Eastern end of the park and is ready to be climbed, conquered and claimed as a castle, pirate ship or a rocket. We can already picture the after-school races to the top.
Fitness equipment is installed. Fit in a quick session before work or a few stretches after dinner. Either way, your workout now comes with fresh air and open space, and you can skip the gym membership.
The basketball hoop is ready. Whether it’s a quick shootaround after school or a friendly one-on-one with your neighbour, it’s set to become a favourite spot for players of all ages.
The Sutu interactive ball wall has arrived. This is the one we’re most excited about. The wall has 16 LED panels with impact sensors, so it lights up and reacts every time you kick or throw a ball at a target. There’s a range of games to test your speed, agility and aim. Kids will love it, and we suspect a few competitive parents will too.
What’s still to come
The final remaining features are due to be installed in October 2026, and they’ll help bring the park together:
- A half basketball court, giving that hoop the home it deserves.
- A slide, for plenty of squeals and “one more go!”
- Fresh turf, ready for picnics, cartwheels and lazy afternoons.
- Outdoor fun, with swings, BBQs, and outdoor tables and bench seating
- Water fountains, so you can top up and keep going.
